Minor Update 0.2 - And what's next
According to itch.io it's been exactly 30 days since I first uploaded the very first playable demo of Project Foxblade.
The feedback has been very helpful and also very encouraging, thank you to the people who gave it a try even in it's very early very prototype-y state.
So, the new update. 0.2 addresses a couple of the things I've seen brought up. The small one that's fixed is the "None" video mode - previously, setting to None would cause the image to stretch and fill the entire screen. This looked kinda bad, so now it maintains the same aspect ratio as the other modes and should be a lot easier on the eyes.
The bigger one is the new tutorial mode. I noticed a lot of people never found that you could for instance regain AP by parrying attacks and then countering. This new tutorial mode covers all of the basic combat mechanics and also explains the counter AP regen mechanic which I hope helps newcomers.
Now, as for what's next, well the next dev push is going to be focused on a few very important things. The biggest and most noteworthy one is adding a couple of all new enemy types to the game. Each enemy is going to have totally unique behaviors that will need to be dealt with in unique ways, and this should make the combat demo significantly more exciting and challenging than it is now.
I'm going to be very excited to work on this and hope to get it in your hands as quickly as I can manage.
Again, thanks to everyone for playing, and see you next time.
